Too Fragile to Handle

The "Too Fragile to Handle" artworks are created through dyeing, painting, printing, and stitching.

I have chosen silk as the material due to its unique properties. It is a luxurious natural fiber, but also exceptionally delicate and requires careful handling. It breaks down easily under the influence of light and weather.

Similar to skin, the fabric possesses the same characteristics – it is sensitive and sometimes fragile. When the surface breaks, the inner layer is revealed, allowing the outer surface to be repaired by stitching it back together. The fabric's surface can also be modified without breaking it, resulting in a transformed fabric, yet bearing the marks, a reminder of the past.

This series of works celebrates the fragility and unpredictability of life. It encourages living in the moment, as nothing is permanent or certain. Just as quickly as new life begins, another can end.
